I’ve taken a long hard look at myself over the few short years of doing news and sport and I have to echo whole-heartedly what Russell is getting at. I’ve saw “photographers” come and go.
The rain comes on and they go, it gets cold and they go!! they try it once don’t like it and go and best of all get a knock back and told their offering is poor and they go!!
I’m by no stretch of the imagination close to the standard of Russell but have at least been able to hold down regular work shootiong sport for Presseye. It’s about committment and shed loads of hard work, i’ve been told on occasion I could have done better and it’s spurred me on to up my game and do better the next time, thanks to Russel for listening and giving advice when I’ve been on the phone for a whine!!

I’ll admit I have a part time job, in fact I have 3 part time jobs, I do electronics, I teach photography at a local college and shoot sport at weekends but i’ll tell you one thing i’m grateful I have those things and never take them for granted, my wife probably wishes I didnt have them all, i’m never in the house..I just wish they collectively paid as well as some of the guys in the “all the gear and no idea club”. But you know something I’m happy with my lot

I have to mention a girl/lady/woman I spotted at a game I was shooting for the telegraph, I take my hat off to her, lashing rain out shooting amateur soccer, balancing an umbrella on her shoulder, massive camera backpack on and her camera in hand, and best of all really polite, it costs nothing to be polite.. In fact Russell i’d say she could have done a great job at the milk cup.

Russell I hope you are feeling better, i’m sure i’ll see you soon enough

Hi Paul,
this program is simply a substitute for not having Photoshop on the Ipad 2 ( except for Photoshop Express ! )

I use it when i need a quick fix on some pictures to show people on the spot, i’ve shot a lot of jobs recently were i used SnapSeed
to show the client what my idea was quickly, then if they liked it i reproduced it at a higher res in CS5
