It all started out as a rather dull Sunday, Carrick 7′s Rugby tournament was on, 7 Hour shift everything was passing along nicely, until The Mens Final and on ran Saorsha, a drama student from Queens and a player for Belfast Harlequins Rugby Club.
Saorsha drenched herself in Hunky Dorys Crisps and proceeded to do a sexy dance on the pitch, as she was unhappy with the HunkyDorys adverts that were shot in America with Bikini Models.

It’s a clever response but unfortunately for Saorsha, considering the point she’s making, Hunky Dorys will be glad she did it. The attention she gets for her protest means the story and campaign will continue to gain attention which is exactly the kind of controversy and furore the campaign was designed for. I’ve my take on it over here http://action81.com/blog/?p=1760
I agree with you, this has been all over the media in Northern Ireland alone, and non-stop coverage of their posters stopping traffic in Belfast, i wonder if this was a really smart P.R Campaign by HunkyDorys
I dunno Emmet, you would have to be living under a rock not to already know about the HD advertising campaign, Everyone has had their bit to say on it; IRFU, feminist groups, general media.
Saorsha has shown exactly what she and most of the rugby world think of the campaign, a load of tosh!
It’s a very clever marketing campaign, toungue-in-cheek, it has offended some people, got some people’s backs up, but lets face it, good looking women have been used to advertise goods since the dawn of time.
Well that’s the thing, they conducted the campaign with the hope that everyone would have their say. Relative to the media cycle Saorsha’s protest has come fairly late and means a story which was dead/dying for all intents and purposes gets stirred up again and will get more people talking about it.
What Saorsha has done is to ridicule the ads so thats good.
Legend!!
Go Saorsha! You’re AMAZING!!!
Disgusting
