I’m guilty of not changing or updating my website for ages, so i started after tea tonight and it’s not finished but i’ve got the bare bones of it and i’m really pleased with it so far.
I use an american company called SHOWIT it’s owned by top wedding photographer David Jay.
I’ve had a lot of different websites over the years, most don’t do what i want or i get bored after a few months.
The Showit Sites software begins as a download to either Mac or PC and installs an application that runs like a normal program on your desktop. However, when you launch the application you must login and you are essentially working “online” to create your website, so it is a cross between a desktop application and a web application. This brings the power of the desktop together with the power of a web program to create an amazing application. To add files to your site you can simply drag them from your desktop onto the program and the software will take care of all the complicated stuff such as resizing the image, uploading and linking the image into your site. When you are finished building you can simply click “publish” and your site will be online ready to view.
Oh, did i mention you can download build and run a site for FREE ?
Anyway if you get fed up with the look of your site ( as i did ) you just log in and choose from the different site designs they have on offer

they have just added more templates as well, i can’t recommend these guys enough.
You can download the software for free, spend a few nights building your site, and you don’t pay for anything until your happy.
