How to Make your Own Keyboard Shortcuts

I’m a big fan of Keyboard Shortcuts, so here is a very simple way of setting your own up with any application on your mac.

  • Access System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> “Keyboard Shortcuts” tab
  • Click the “+” sign at the bottom.
  • From the drop-down list, select Finder
  • Type the exact name of the menu command that you want.
NOTE: A finder command would be anything under the “File” menu when you have the Finder selected.
  • Type in the shortcut you want
  • Click the add button.
