Adobe has released Camera Raw 5.5 for Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Lightroom 2.5. The new versions for Mac and Windows add the Nikon D300s, Nikon D3000, Olympus E-P1, Panasonic DMC-FZ35 and Panasonic DMC-GF1 to the list of cameras whose RAW files can be converted by the software. Adobe appears to have rolled in preliminary support for Canon EOS 7D CR2 files into these updates too; we’re able to view and convert RAW photos captured with a beta 7D camera in both Camera Raw 5.5 and Lightroom 2.5 for Mac.
In addition, Camera Raw 5.5 and Lightroom 2.5 incorporate an improvement to the conversion algorithms used for certain camera’s RAW files, including models from Olympus, Panasonic and Sony. Plus, Lightroom 2.5 for Windows corrects an import dialog preference bug.
