Johnna Brynn Bockover is the founder of Star Shooter. Johnna holds a MA in Psychology and has 6 years of experience working with abused and neglected children in residential, community and alternative school settings. Many of these children faced issues such as anger management, sexual abuse and mood disorders. Johnna taught photography as art therapy to delinquent youth during this time with great success. The youth experienced changes with an increase in self-esteem, positive behaviors and displayed improvements in their education.
Johnna is a professional photographer that has a passion to see hurting children healed. She uses phototherapy as a technique that will allow children to use photography as the catalyst for communication, change and healing. Johnna offers a unique therapeutic tool to aid children in their vital and delicate process of restoration.
Star Shooter implements culturally adaptive and client-centered workshops to children aged 8-18 with the flexibility of one-day to one-semester interventions. The workshops can be conducted with an individual or in a group setting. The child will learn digital photography techniques using a camera, mac computers and adobe photoshop software. A culminating project will be assigned for the child upon completion of a class.
I was introduced to this company by a friend of mine in Florida, StarShooter is a fantastic idea.
What have we done to help Photographers, i love to help people who have an interest in Taking Pictures, Snapshots, Photos, whatever you want to call it, but this is in a different league, I think this is amazing, watch their video on the site and read their blog which is well worth 5 minutes of your time.

If people want more information about the techniques of both “PhotoTherapy” and “Therapeutic Photography”, have a look at:
http://www.phototherapy-centre.com
