I have been watching Competition Photographers a lot these days, what i mean by that is guys who aren’t there to shoot for the media and hopefully get something they can hold onto for a later date, but specifically going out just to do a set of pics.
Nearly everyone likes to win awards.
Awards Create Glamour and Glamour creates Income.
But Beware.
Awards are judged in Committee by consensu, in other words what’s in fashion.
But remember Originality can’t fashionable, because it hasn’t as yet had the approval of the Committee.
DO NOT TRY TO FOLLOW FASHION !
the true art lies in being true to what you are shooting, ( the subject ) and you will be far more likely to create something that is timeless
